Bitcoin ETF Approval in the US<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>My prediction is that a spot Bitcoin ETF will be approved this year.<\/p>\n<p>The gates are open and there&#8217;s no going back &#8211; the big players want in. BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, WisdomTree, VanEck and others already applied for an <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/etfs-exchange-traded-funds\/\">ETF<\/a> and the pressure is on the SEC as billions wait to enter this market.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, this will create a shift in demand. At the same time, it&#8217;ll coincide with the supply shock of the block reward halving. I&#8217;ll let you figure out what this means for the price.<\/p>\n<p>I have to mention: I don&#8217;t care about the Bitcoin ETF. I won&#8217;t buy it, I won&#8217;t recommend it. <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/the-inevitability-of-bitcoin\/\">Bitcoin<\/a> didn&#8217;t solve <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/self-custody-explained-not-your-keys-not-your-coins\/\">self-custody<\/a> for traders to gift their keys to institutions.<\/p>\n<p>But n00bs that <em>&#8220;want to allocate 1% of their net-worth to crypto&#8221;<\/em> will love it.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Bitcoin_Price_Prediction\"><\/span>2. Bitcoin Price Prediction<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I already wrote about this in May 2023 on my <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/petkovskix\/status\/1655459175437041665\">first thread on X<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1391 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost\/dpetkovski\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/btc-thread.png\" alt=\"prediction\" width=\"352\" height=\"476\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I believe we already entered the &#8220;bull market confirmed&#8221; stage. I&#8217;ll post a more detailed post about Bitcoin&#8217;s short-term price, but in summary:<\/p>\n<p>I expect $BTC to be either close to or breach its all-time-high this year. The &#8220;big&#8221; predictions (i.e. price discovery) are for 2025.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Upcoming_Narratives\"><\/span>3. Upcoming Narratives<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a list of crypto\/DeFi narratives I think will blow up:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Native cross-chain swaps\u00a0<\/strong>(THORChain, Maya Protocol, Chainflip &#8211; the ones that go beyond the EVM)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ethereum &amp; L2s <\/strong>(all governance tokens of L2 networks, preferably acquired via airdrops)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bitcoin Ecosystem<\/strong> (Stacks, Ordinals, BRC-20s &#8211; just holding free mints and Bitmaps was already worthwhile)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Restaking\u00a0<\/strong>(EigenLayer is building a revolutionary solution and there are many liquid restaking tokens available too)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cosmos Ecosystem\u00a0<\/strong>(the ecosystem is much more mature this cycle and full of opportunity)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Modularity\u00a0<\/strong>(Celestia should be the main play here and I&#8217;d hold most airdrops that will come from delegating $TIA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PS I put my money where my mouth is during the bear market, so there&#8217;s your disclaimer.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_The_Year_of_Airdrops\"><\/span>4. The Year of Airdrops<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you missed the airdrop potential of the bear market, this is your chance to get involved!<\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t know the term: an <strong>airdrop\u00a0<\/strong>is a distribution of tokens from a project as a reward to its users.<\/p>\n<p>Some drops aren&#8217;t worth it, but others can be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars (literally). Usually there are no guarantees or announcements about this. Instead, they happen as a surprise drop to your wallet based on some criteria at a given time.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the ones I&#8217;ll definitely be eligible for or already expecting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ethereum L2s<\/strong> (ZkSync, Scroll, Linea, Manta Pacific, Taiko, Base, Zora, StarkNet, etc.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bridges <\/strong>(LayerZero, Wormhole, Orbiter Finance, Owlto Finance, etc.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ecosystem-specific<\/strong> (MarginFi, Kamino Finance, MayanSwap, SyncSwap, Vertex, etc.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Many others:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/preparation-for-eigenlayers-restaking-unpause-airdrop-opportunity\/\">EigenLayer<\/a>, Namada, Dymension, Venom, MetaMask, Aleo, Tabi, Omni, opBNB, XAI, ElDorado, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I can&#8217;t list them all because there are updates daily. I definitely forgot a bunch as well.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve made multiple 5 figures from airdrops during 2023 and the narrative continues to deliver. Just to name a few: Celestia, Arbitrum, Optimism, Maya Protocol, Mayan Gold, multiple Cosmos ecosystem airdrops, and <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/a-day-in-a-life-of-a-crypto-investor\/\">most recently<\/a> ZkFair.<\/p>\n<p>Again, these are just from the last year and from the top of my head. But I think you get the picture.<\/p>\n<p>Long story short: new projects are being built. They built on top of each other and reward active users and early participation.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_The_End_of_Tight_Monetary_Policy\"><\/span>5. The End of Tight Monetary Policy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The FED seems closer to declaring victory over inflation by the day.<\/p>\n<p>Whether this will manifest itself as rate cuts or <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/how-the-money-printer-makes-you-poor\/\">increasing the money supply<\/a> in other ways, I think we&#8217;re nearing a loosening of the monetary policy.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re also entering a US election year. This usually corelates with good performance in the stock market as no candidate wants a declining S&amp;P 500 while running for president. By the way, for bonus points, my crystal balls tells me that a republican will win this cycle.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, nobody can tell exactly when the rate hikes will stop, but I&#8217;m confident in predicting it over a course of a year.<\/p>\n<p>PS I keep seeing people failing to position themselves properly for a rate cutting environment. That&#8217;s why I included a macro prediction besides crypto.
