We’re witnessing history being made, ladies and gentlemen!

The spot Bitcoin ETF is now approved in the US. Here’s the SEC’s statement.

The main reason for this update are my 2024 predictions where the Bitcoin ETF approval was the first one. Four more to go!

These are the ETFs’ providers and tickers:

I like Grayscale’s and Fidelity’s inclusion of the term “BTC”, prefixed with the fund’s initial.

I also like VanEck’s $HODL and Valkyire’s $BRRR – great homage to Bitcoin’s meme culture.

Hashdex seems to have missed a memo though – Bitcoin has nothing to do with DeFi. I’d suggest them to keep that ticker for an $ETH ETF or an eventual crypto index tracker. Relating $BTC to decentralized finance does a bit of a reputational damage from my perspective… But who knows – probably only n00bs will buy these ETFs anyway.

And lastly, $BTC’s price is up today, but $ETH is surging (10% daily candle). I think the potential for an Ethereum ETF starts getting priced in, now that the flood gates are open.

I love every day in crypto.

PS Please don’t ask me what and when to buy. If you plan to, I recommend holding actual $BTC in self-custody instead of an IOU.
