However, that&#8217;s far from <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/the-inevitability-of-bitcoin\/\">Bitcoin&#8217;s value proposition<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s understandable. I didn\u2019t know which risks I\u2019m assuming by having my wealth:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In a bank account\u00a0<strong>owned\u00a0<\/strong>by a private institution \u2013 one that doesn\u2019t even have the cash reserves to fulfill withdrawals (not a conspiracy, a fact).<\/li>\n<li>In a currency\u00a0<strong>created\u00a0<\/strong>by a government \u2013 a <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/inflation-explained\/\">valueless number<\/a> I can\u2019t use for anything outside the borders of a country or economic union.<\/li>\n<li>In an economy\u00a0<strong>controlled\u00a0<\/strong>by a central bank \u2013 one that freely adjusts the interest rates and the <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/how-the-money-printer-makes-you-poor\">money supply<\/a>, thus determining the value of everything I \u201cown\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bitcoin solves all of this.<\/p>\n<p>And without having the downsides and impractical aspects of any other asset with global value and limited supply.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_Is_This_Relevant\"><\/span>Why Is This Relevant?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Well, <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/tales-from-the-last-cycle-exit-crypto-in-profit\/\">the future will happen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And the people who\u00a0<strong>claim<\/strong>\u00a0that Bitcoin is a scam are the same people who\u2019ll look back and\u00a0<strong>claim\u00a0<\/strong>that <em>&#8220;crypto investors&#8221;<\/em> somehow <strong>got lucky<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This will be a result of a thought process such as this one:\u00a0<em>some people took stupid amounts of risk\u2026 way out of their risk tolerance\u2026 invested in speculative assets with no real value\u2026 and these assets\u00a0<strong>somehow\u00a0<\/strong>grew in price\u2026 because there was a greater fool to buy at all time highs\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p>So, if you\u2019re reading this after <del>2020<\/del> 2024 and you missed the opportunity, <strong>this is for you<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Read the following sentence, unambiguously and in its simplest form:<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"I_Didnt_Get_Lucky\"><\/span><em>I Didn&#8217;t Get Lucky.<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>My participation in this market is neither a gamble nor hoping for quick profits.<\/p>\n<p>On the contrary, I have ideological reasons to be a bitcoiner \u2013 not only as an investor, but simply a holder thereof.<\/p>\n<p>If you need more clarification, read my post on <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/the-inevitability-of-bitcoin\/\">The Inevitability of Bitcoin<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And if you&#8217;re interested in the investment perspective, read my post on <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/the-4-year-cycle-bitcoin-price-prediction\">The 4 Year Cycle<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>PS I claim the rights to state these things confidently because <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/tales-from-the-last-cycle-exit-crypto-in-profit\/\">I did it in the past<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/how-i-accumulate-bitcoin-during-bear-markets\/\">I&#8217;m doing it again<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, but what does this mean for you, the person who thinks that\u00a0<strong>hodling\u00a0<\/strong>BTC is riskier than\u00a0<strong>holding\u00a0<\/strong>cash?<\/p>\n<p>Well,\u00a0I\u2019m not trying to convey \u201c<em>buy BTC now!!!<\/em>\u201c. That&#8217;s not my decision to make.<\/p>\n<p>However, I\u2019d highly recommend to open your mind and start accumulating knowledge. And not necessarily limited to the topic I\u2019m talking about here. I don&#8217;t know when you&#8217;re reading this post, but I\u2019m sure that there are opportunities out there that the general population discards or is still not aware about. And here is where you should come in \u2013 firmly setting <strong>your role in the next big thing<\/strong>\u00a0by the simple means of being curious about <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/how-the-money-printer-makes-you-poor\/\">the world you live in<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And if you do decide to research Bitcoin, make sure to adopt the <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/protect-your-seed-phrase-10-tips-to-secure-your-crypto\/\">best practices of storing it securely<\/a>. This is a space where scams are common and emotional n00bs often get rekt.<\/p>\n<p>But of course, if you simply don\u2019t want to learn about this technology or the problems it solves, at least learn about <del>quantitative easing<\/del> <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/how-the-money-printer-makes-you-poor\/\">printing money<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the bare minimum and affects you more than you may think.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Value_of_FIAT_Money\"><\/span>The Value of FIAT Money<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Let me put this in more relatable terms &#8211; \ud83d\udcb0 money \ud83d\udcb8.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/why-the-stock-market-always-goes-up\/\">long-term price performance<\/a> of most high quality assets is driven by rate cuts, managing reserve requirements, and <del>quantitative easing<\/del> alchemy. Basically, <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/how-the-money-printer-makes-you-poor\/\">creation of money<\/a> that can be used for purchasing real, existing, valuable assets with. And it\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/supply-and-demand-an-introduction\/\">economics 101<\/a> that the oversupplied good will lose value.<\/p>\n<p>And in this case, this is &#8220;the good&#8221; that we&#8217;re measuring assets&#8217; prices against.<\/p>\n<p>The oversupplied good is what people get paid in and pay taxes with.<\/p>\n<p>What people use to transact and put their full faith in as a reliable payment system, which slowly bleeds and converges towards 0.<\/p>\n<p>And although I\u2019m not foreseeing <a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/inflation-explained\/\">hyperinflation<\/a> in the first world in near future, this is something that can\u2019t sustain in the long run.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t take my word for it &#8211; here\u2019s the purchasing power of $1 from 1860 until today:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2849\" style=\"width: 2010px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2849\" class=\"wp-image-2849 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost\/dpetkovski\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/purchase-power-usd.png\" alt=\"didn't get lucky\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1024\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-2849\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.in2013dollars.com\/1860-dollars-in-2017?amount=1\">Source<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p>If we\u2019re a bit loose with definitions for the purpose of conveying a point, the following statement holds true:<\/p>\n<p><strong>FIAT is a ponzi scheme.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Remember,\u00a0<strong>nothing<\/strong> has intrinsic value. Our collective perception is what gives value to assets.<\/p>\n<p>Think about it.\u00a0Oil futures went\u00a0<strong>negative<\/strong> in 2020, purely driven by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dpetkovski.com\/supply-and-demand-an-introduction\/\">supply and demand<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2850\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost\/dpetkovski\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/oil-negative.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1062\" height=\"935\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And when it comes to other currencies, here\u2019s a chart of the Argentine Peso versus the already depreciating US Dollar:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2854\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost\/dpetkovski\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/peso-to-usd.png\" alt=\"fiat sucks\" width=\"898\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And here\u2019s a picture of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Venezuelan_bol%C3%ADvar\">Venezuelan bolivars<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2851\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost\/dpetkovski\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/bolivars.jpg\" alt=\"bitcoin\" width=\"960\" height=\"931\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The lesson?
