Teleport Assets By Remembering 12 Words

Throughout history, many people lost assets through violence, coercion, or corruption.

And it’s a sad reality that in many places and cases, people can still be stripped off everything they’ve worked for.

In this post, I want to cover a few examples of inability to use the money that we’re convinced we own, especially in a global context, and I’ll present a working alternative.

Why Would You Need to Teleport Assets?

Well, there are countless scenarios that come to mind…

Imagine you’re fleeing from war and want to cross a border with your life savings of $30k.

Or maybe you’re an expat with family in Iran that you want to send remittances to.

Imagine you’re a Swede that found a lucrative job in the US and need to bring your gold coins with you.

In all of these cases, you’d either be robbed or sent back.

Note that bank transfers, deposits, or “I’ll just use credit card” don’t work in any of the scenarios. That’s why I didn’t include examples of tourists preferring cash to cards.

Enter Decentralized Money

As you probably already know, you can transfer Bitcoin to any address anywhere in the world.

The system doesn’t know about borders or nationalities, and treats a $1 transfer same as a $10M transfer.

Also, your assets are fully within your control and you have virtually 0 restrictions on how to use your money.

But let’s say you don’t need to send anything to someone else.

You just want your assets stored securely until you need to access them in the future.

This is where remembering 12 words comes in handy – as long as you know your seed phrase, you can access your balance from anywhere in the world.

It’s not even teleportation. Your Bitcoin is everywhere already.

Accessible by anyone, across the entire world (and beyond), that has the seed phrase that control your accounts. Including scammers that will try to make you share it with them.

So, you found a job outside of your economic union? No need to do lengthy migrations, fill in forms, or beg institutions to accept you as a client. Your money is usable in exactly the same way as it was in your former home.

Or in the above-mentioned scenario of a refugee – you’re fleeing a country and have no access to the internet. No problem. Once you cross a border, you can initialize a wallet with your seed phrase and your Bitcoin will be waiting for you there.

And if you happen to find yourself on the other side of the world, you’ll have access to the same funds in the same way.
